A major incident has been declared in Bournemouth as thousands of people have ignored Englands lockdown rules and flooded the area’s beaches on the hottest day of the year (so far).

Bournemouth, Churchurch and Poole councils have hit out at people who have flooded the area to enjoy the beaches; Ignoring Englands current Coronavirus lockdown rules.

Bournemouth council have said: “A multi-agency emergency response has now been activated to coordinate resources across the area to tackle the issues”.

“We are also deploying additional resources to provide increased patrols in the vicinity to help tackle any issues of anti-social behaviour and other offences being committed. “

“The declaration of a major incident allows us to bring agencies together so we can take actions available to us to safeguard the public as much as possible. “

It is unclear whether authorities will use powers to make people leave the area. VB will update this article as information becomes available.
