Thursday: Matt Hancock was called to the House of Commons to answer an urgent question about the 10 PM curfew on the hospitality industry. The health minister announced that Governments COVID-19 restrictions are “starting to work”; and ignored the curfew question entirely!

While new COVID cases are at an all-time high with no sign of slowdown, and hospitals fast approaching their capacity; It is hard to see how anyone can say things are working. Clearly, restrictions are not working.

Hancock stated that unlike the first wave, he believes that the second wave is more ‘localised’; However, the localised nature seems to be spin.

The ‘localised nature’ claim in relation to the second wave is sheer spin and a matter of how the data is being read and reported by ministers as opposed to reflecting how the virus is spreading. The pandemic has ALWAYS been localised in nature, thats how virus’s work.

As far as we are aware there is no virus with the power to attack every region of a country at the same time. It’s just not a rational concept.

The Health Minister used the statement to announce further restrictions to the North West, particularly Liverpool which seems to be facing some of the strictest restrictions in the country. These cities will be facing stronger restrictions which included NO micing between households and a ban on non-essential travel.

Hancock ended by stating he believed the new restrictions are starting to work. Voice Britannia believes we have to wait a few more weeks before we claim any sort of victory over Coronavirus.
