The UK Government will hold a mini-budget this afternoon, in response to the COVID19 pandemic which has ground much of the British ecconomy to a halt.

As today develops, we will do our best to cover all news from both Prime Ministers Questions and the mini-budget which proceeds it.

Sources close to Westminster have told VB that as recently as this morning Rishi Sunak was at odds with other members of Government over his plan to kickstart the ecconomy by giving ever person £500.

The chancellor’s plan is to give everyone £500 each in the hope that they will run out and spend it, kick-starting the economy; However, commentators believe that if government go ahead with this plan, it will not be ‘free money‘, as ‘GOV doesn’t have any money‘. So while Sunak believes in his (proven) plan to restart the economy; the biggest worry he has is that it will be rejected bu his own party.
